About The 1000 Club

The sister arm of The 350 Club, The 1000 Club is a high level board event and connection platform for senior individuals creating or expanding a non-executive career.

Designed to offer sophisticated insight and access only for senior leaders and professional services partners, The 1000 Club allows its curated group of members to expand board and board headhunter networks and knowledge at the highest level over the course of a year. The backbone is a year long series of private events starting in January 2027 which offer exceptional access. These include drinks with leaders of the board practice of Egon Zehnder at their offices in Victoria and with board headhunters from Russell Reynolds at their offices in St James. Members also have the opportunity to meet leaders in the board practice of Teneo, and of Gatenby Sanderson, who regularly place candidates on the largest government boards.

Supporting these are private talks and meetings with a group of the most senior FTSE 350 Chairs and Committee Chairs to provide insight into the board appointment process, the demands of large and regulated board directorships and a case study analysing the process of building a portfolio. This sits together with guidance from the UK's best board headhunters (from the board practices of Russell Reynolds, Korn Ferry and Gatenby Sanderson) on what headhunters look for in candidates, how to manage headhunters effectively - an art in itself - and how to succeed in interviews for government boards. The event series change annually but are always focused on the topics most relevant for this group.

The 1000 Club is closely linked, and draws on, its sister community The 350 Club, the closed community for global board members and leaders. This has board and executive committee members from 90% of the FTSE 100 and board members from 90% of the FTSE 250, 23% of the CAC 40, 22% of the Euronext 100, 15% of the DAX, 10% of the S&P 100 and 5% of the BEL 20, as well as some of the largest privately held groups. The 1000 Club service also draws on the advisory expertise over the last decade of another sister organisation, Non-executive Directorships Consulting, which has helped more than 350 very senior leaders, board members and Chairs move forward in the non-executive space.
